It has its moments but it's really let down by the verses. It sounds like he's singing to a totally different sound, his timing just seems so out - perhaps better backing music in the verses would have made this more listenable.

Growing on me a little. It has a weird hook though, and I think it's strange that Ne-Yo would want to cover such a standard that he himself co-wrote. I've changed my mind and no longer think that it's not good enough to make the top 50.

Laat ik even vooropstellen dat ik Ne-Yo een prima zanger vind en dat ik zijn nummers meestal wel kan waarderen. Heel veel van zijn platen ben ik na een tijdje alweer beu, maar van dit nummer heb ik andere verwachtingen. Wat een héérlijk en catchy plaatje is dit. Ne-yo war super stark in seinen ersten Jahren von 2006-2008. <br><br>Doch seit er, wie alle R&B-Pop-Stars, zuviel Dancesound reinmischt in seine Songs, unterscheidet er sich nicht mehr von den anderen. Sein Talent kommt nicht mehr richtig zur Geltung.<br><br>"Let Me Love You (...)" hört sich etwas müde an (Melodie) und vom Arrangement billig zusammen geschustert. Der Gesang war nie seine größte Stärke aber meist passabel.<br><br>Ganz übel find ich das Teil hier zwar nicht aber nicht mehr wert als 3*. |

The first minute sounded excellent, but it got tiring and annoying very quickly. Too repetitive and it sounds like he hasn't progressed from his earlier sound at all. It sounds very 2008! 3<br><br>EDIT: That said, it's growing on me, and while it does sound dated, it's a little nostalgic for me at the same time. The beat lacks some strong bass, which is what it really needs for it to work, it would just be so much better with that. 3.5

Still a really dire song. Ne-Yo's vocal is bad and one of his worst efforts in that regard. The production is mostly bad, especially in the chorus where it clashes with his voice and doesn't suit at all. On that note, what a terrible hook! Makes for really clunky and unpleasant listening. Sad too because the verses had potential, which is the only thing saving this from the bottom rating. Probably Ne-Yo's worst ever.
