Havana Brown is back biiiitcheeeezzzz jahahahaha^^ :P

Geht an Party ganz schön ab! | **** It's alright but I'm disappointed as I like both Flashing Lights and Ba*Bing and was expecting more from this. This feels more generic and less different than those two tbh. Anyway it'll probably grow on me but for now I'm feeling underwhelmed.

EDIT: I like it now. However it still isn't as good as the two aforementioned songs. Lol 392 :P Last edited: 14.10.2013 22:39 |
| *** Another single, really? Trying to be Flo Rida and have every song chart eh?
It is generic, better than Flashing Lights but has nothing on Ba*Bing |
| **** Listening to this just makes me disappointed that "Flashing Lights" flopped because it was pretty different from anything on the Australian charts while this shows just about zero progression. Admittedly I was fully expecting something like this (and in fact expected it to be more generic) but I'm still not happy with it.

On the song itself; I think the pre-chorus is pretty good, and I like the last 30 seconds just because that siren sounding thing is not something I hear every day. The rest feels pretty weak to me, especially the 'breakdown' or whatever it should be called, which just reminds me of Timomatic's "Waterfalls".

I hope her X Factor performance [s]sucks[/s] [s]is cancelled[/s] [s]was just a rumour[/s] [s]is changed to a different song[/s] [s]happens during a nation-wide blackout[/s] [s]is aired following an unsettling commercial that causes everyone to turn off their TV's[/s] [s]happens during a UFO landing that's far more interesting than Havana Brown[/s] [s]involves Havana giving birth to the spawn of Satan live on stage[/s] [s]takes place inside the carcasses of a range of endangered species with racist slurs provocatively spray-painted on her dancers' bodies[/s] [s]every single one of the above[/s] doesn't make this big.

Edit: it has grown on me, I actually like the breakdown now, and love the last 30 seconds. One extra star, but leaving my original review :P

10 months after the last one edit: ironically, this became one of my favourites of hers and I'm rather glad it did so well :P Last edited: 16.09.2014 |
| **** LOL 392 :P

It's an alright track (above average for generic dance), though I found 'Ba*Bing' and 'Flashing Lights' to be better tracks. Last edited: 19.10.2013 02:07 |
| ** Pretty shithouse. |
| ** What is with her horrendous tendency to be simultaneously formulaic and bandwagony? Another bad one. |
| *** Klingt wie ein Ke$ha-Clon in der Deppen-Disco
ein musikalisches Sonderangebot! |
| ** Meh pretty crap, 2.3. |
| *** It could grow on me but it's a 3 for now. |
|
| ** That final breakdown dropped it down from a 3* to a 2*, but otherwise it was mostly alright, albeit generic. Looks like it could be a top 10 hit however. 2.4*. |
| *** Interesting song. I like the two different feels in the song, it's killer. |
| ** This is trying way too hard to be interesting and it ends up falling flat before the first breakdown. The dubstep-feel 'sirens' at the end provides the only relief to the overbearing drum beats and breakdown that makes the song feel more hyperactive than it should be. |
| *** I do still think her music is pretty vacuous and the juxtaposition of changing over from something of more class to this is quite unsettling. Luckily for her tonight, she's on right after Flo Rida, which gives her an extremely unfair advantage. There is something I enjoy in this though. I feel that though it's a bit basic, it has some pace behind it. For no reason I like the use of the lock-n-load shotgun sound to go into the chorus even though it's a bit stupid. I wish I could stan for the outro too, but it's just completely devoid of melody and nowhere near as ridiculous as "Here's Johnny" to get away with that. 3.4 |
| ** Shit. She sucks. |
| **** Her best track since 'You'll Be Mine', which feels like a million singles ago. Has a decent accompanying video and her performance on the X-Factor was awesome. |
| ** A reasonable song which gets a major penalty for that piercing sound at the end. Alarm noises are designed to get attention in the event of an emergency. They're not for enjoyable listening in club songs. 2.3* |
| ***** I'm glad she's had a hit with this song because I think its great and one of the much better Dance songs out there right now. |
| *** Not as bad as I thought it would be but she has produced better singles than this. |
| ****** Catchy chorus. Killer beats. A true bop. |
| ** She has made nothing decent since 'We Run The Night' imo. |
| **** Nicht wirklich definierbar. Teilweise gute Passagen, teilweise ein absolutes musikalisches No-Go. |
| *** The slightly cool backing music steals the show from Havana Brown. |
| *** I should give it a 4, but its not a tier below Ba*bing and Flashing Lights, its much worse than those 2. |
| *** Zu viel verspielte Produktion. |
